The smell

Sweat by itself does not have much of an odor. Most of the smell is caused by bacteria which live on the skin and in clothing. These bacteria use the sweat for growing themselves. On average bacteria can double their numbers after every 10Minutes. Damped environment provides favorable medium for microorganisms growth.

We can find two kinds of anti-microbial finsh available in market. Silver and Non Silver Based Anti-Microbial.

Silver Based Anti-Microbial Finish

From old days silver has been successfully used as a Sterilizing agent. In the past silver coins were placed in vessels to preserve milk. Today the inside of refrigerators is made of silver-containing coatings to avoid buildup of bacteria resultantly fresh food for longer period.

In the food sector silver is used as an additive, e.g. for sweet coatings or decorating chocolates.

This compound has micro particle size which embeds itself to textile with strong adhesive forces and eliminated need of Binder or adhesive system. Resultantly economical process and small particle size enables to highly stand with Laundry wash and Dry cleaning.

Silver Based Anti-Microbial works in three ways

1. Blocking oxygen

2. Inactivating proteins of the bacteria

3. Locking the cell membrane

 Micro-structured titanium dioxide is the carrier of the active component silver chloride, on which  Anti-Microbial is based. In the case of perspiration silver ions with antimicrobial effect are set free from a virtually infinite deposit.  This Concentration to be applied with this finish is also very low. For exhaust 0.2 to 0.5% is enough and for padding 2 to 5g/L could withstand more than 20 Washes.

Silver Based Antimicrobial Finish is well suitable with Hydrophilic softening agents/Hydrophobic Agents/Soft handle finshes.
