Studying effect of Viscosity on Shade Depth (Strength), CMC (Change of Shade) and Staining on White Ground.

SUBJ-18:
Studying effect of Viscosity on Shade Depth (Strength), CMC (Change of Shade) and Staining on White Ground.

Chemicals:
Dye, Stock paste with varying Viscosity. Viscosity can be obtained with high concentration of Thickener. For example Viscosity chosen for this experiment was 50,000 and 15,000 for Brookfield Viscometer spindle 6 and RPM 10.

Alginate Thickener at 40g/Kg approx gives Viscosity 15,000 at 6/10.
Alginate Thickener at 80g/Kg approx gives Viscosity 50,000 at 6/10.

Note: These concentrations are for general idea. You can test at your end to adjust viscosities.

Purpose:
Purpose is to studying effect of Viscosity on Shade Depth (Strength), CMC (Change of Shade) and Staining on White Ground while using same Mercerized Fabric and controlling all external parameters which can interfere with the result like (Time & Temperature during Drying, Steaming and washing.

Back preview of low and high viscous stock paste.

Recipe:
Stock paste:
Mild. Oxidizing agent             10  g/Kg
Urea                                        100g/Kg
Sodium Bicarbonate               25g/Kg
Alginate Thickener               Xg/Kg
Water                                      Balance
Total                                       1 Kg

Xg/Kg can be
Alginate Thickener at 40g/Kg approx gives Viscosity 15,000 at 6/10.
Alginate Thickener at 80g/Kg approx gives Viscosity 50,000 at 6/10

Dye Glass:
Rective Golden Yell               30 g/Kg
Stock paste                              Balance
Total                                       1 Kg

Process:
Print and dry at 100-110°C.
Treat with Saturated steam  at 102°C for 8 min

Washing:
§     Cold rinse
§     Soap at 60oC With:
1-2 ml/l of Ladipur RSK liq.
§     Hot Rinse
§     Cold Rinse

Remarks:
Results Oriented represent that there is no Major change on Depth/Strength of Shade although visually  high viscous fabric seems to much greater in strength but that was not the case according to data color, But, as for CMC (Change of tone/shade) is concerned by looking it one was able to figure out that red part is much high and same story was repeated by data color and hence we got CMC of 1.88 and resultantly Failure.

Staining was much less to figure out visually so taking help by data color showed that high viscous print have more berger whiteness in other words less staining. Although Yellow is not better choice for studying staining. So, one can try red or turquoise color to study its behavior with change of viscosity.

Hopefully, You will like this post and will be helpful for some of you geniuses around.

  2. Hey there terrific blog! Does running a blog like this take a lot of
work? I have no understanding of coding however I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, if you have any suggestions
or techniques for new blog owners please share.
I understand this is off topic but I simply wanted to ask.
    Appreciate it!
